Enhanced Horizons Center for Advancement Transitional Living Program
Mission
Statement:
Enhanced Horizons Center for Advancement is a transitional living program that
assists homeless teens and young adults (ages 18-24) move toward self
sufficiency and successful adult living
(this includes single mothers with children). By providing free
housing, transportation assistance and other support services, each young adult
is given an opportunity to develop and work on individualized independent living
goals in a positive, safe and supportive living environment.

Kerr, Medina, Burnet, Uvalde, Kendall, Gillespie, Bandera, Llano, Blanco,
Kimble, Mason, Real, Menard and Edwards.
Cost/Fees to
Client:
Minimal Fees; Accommodations made for residents who have no source of income.
Who is
Eligible?
Teens and young adults between the ages of 18 and 24 years of age who are in
need of a stable, safe place to live.
Must be committed to actively participating in program services and
willing to follow the program guidelines and expectations.
(Couples and/or on campus romantic
relationships are not allowed.)
Services Provided:
Free Housing -
Enhanced Horizons has the capacity to accommodate up to 20 residents in
apartment-like housing units.
Transportation
- Transports residents to work, personal appointments, school and leisure
activities.
Education -
Assists residents in completing high school, obtaining a GED, entering college,
or finding vocational training opportunities.
Employment -
Assists residents in finding employment.
Life Skills
Training – in the areas of money management, consumer education, use of credit,
job search/job retention, interpersonal skills, parenting skills (as
appropriate), and mental-physical health care.
Service
Coordination – assists residents in learning about and accessing needed
community resources and social services.

How long is the program? The length of time in the Enhanced Horizons program varies depending on the individual needs of the young adult. To obtain maximum benefit from the program, we anticipate that most residents will stay anywhere from 9 to 18 months.
